FRANCESCO VASCA was born in 1967 in Giugliano, a town located in the metropolitan area of Napoli, Italy. In 1995 he received the Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control from the University of Napoli Federico II (Napoli, Italy). Since 2000 he is Associate Professor of Automatic Control at the University of Sannio (Benevento, Italy).
His research interests include: analysis and control of switched systems (averaging, complementarity, dithering, real time hardware in the loop) with applications to power electronics; automotive control for transmissions and hybrid electric vehicles; simulation of manufacturing systems; formation control of multiagent systems. Most of these topics have been inspired by collaborations with the research centers of the Italian companies AnsaldoBreda, Ansaldo Sistemi Industriali, ELASIS, Centro Ricerche Fiat and Centro Sviluppo Materiali.
He is author of more than 90 scientific papers published on international journals and conferences. He is reviewer for several international journals and has been a member of technical committees for several international conferences. Since January 2008 he serves as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology. Since 1994 he is a member of IEEE Control System Society and IEEE Power Electronics Society. |
